I was born in Orange, Orange, California. Lived in Burbank all my life except for three years we lived in Honolulu, Hawaii. After WWII my father was sent there to rebuild buildings that were bombed out by the Japanese, which took our country to War. Upon return I attended Thomas Edison Elementary, Luther Burbank Jr. High, then on to BHS. Out of High School I attended Lawton Dental & Medical School in Beverly Hills, LA and became a Dental Assistant. Working for two Oral Surgeons, one in Burbank, Jabe Z. We started our lives together in Provo, Utah where David could finish his Accounting degree at Brigham Young University. Our first child was born in Provo...Lance C. King. The other five were born in Burbank, CA. After David's College days we moved back to Burbank and bought a home on Cypress Street in Burbank. Moving again as the family grew to Sherlock Drive in Burbank. All our children went through the Burbank school system and furthered their Education in college with a series of degrees. Kind of proud of them am I. David was the Manageing Partner of his own CPA firm King, King, Alleman and Jensen in Burbank. Their office was in the big black glass building on Magnolia and Glenoaks Blvd. The firm has moved out to Valencia, CA. David was President of the Kiwanis Club, Burbank Chapter in 1983-1984. He also served as the President of the Verduge Hills chapter of BSA. Was on the BSA Council for several years. He was awarded the Silver Beaver. ere in Nauvoo. We have had many friends from California and Utah stop in to visit as they come to Nauvoo as Touriests. It's fun to see and catch up with them. I loved my years at BHS do them over if I could. Fun, fun, fun. Studying, well not so much. I was lucky to be in two Operatas, “Rose Marie” and the “Mikado.” I was lucky to be the lead in the Senior Play, “Ask Any Girl”. Meg Wheeler. I love my husband, children and Grandchildren and our new little Great Grandchildren. They are the rock and light of my life. I have had two knee and now two hip replacements. Two for two, odds not to bad. I'm not moving around to well anymore. My Walker is my best friend. ..Warranty has expired I guess. In the passed 3 years I have had reversion on my right knee and have fallen twice breaking both femurs and my left wrist. Spent three months in a Rehab facility, away from home, family and friends. Some did come to visit. Don’t break bones my friends. I’m still in terrible pain. I stay busy with my grandchildren and great grandchildren, hobbies, crocheting lap afghans for the Cancer Centers in our area, and visiting with my new friends here in Nauvoo. Most Wednesday nights they come over for movie night. Popcorn and girlie movies, can't do better than this. My favorite TV programs at present are, reruns of Bones, The Last Ship, I watch old The Lone Ranger TV shows and Emergency, Hallmark Channal movies, X-Files and the Cubs baseball games. Still a Dodger fan, but now I've taken on the Chicago Cubs. “Go Cubs go, Go Cubs go, Hey Chicago what do say? The Cubs are gonna win today!” Win, win, win! Not always! :-( On February 9,2018 David had major surgery to remove a mass in the upper abdomen. All went well, the tumor was what is called, “Ganglioneuroma” a rare type of tumor. It was Benine, thank the Lord. He is recovering slowly. I had my second total hip replacement On Monday, March 19th, 2018. Now it is two for two on hips and knees. We were able to come home 2 days after my surgery. Learning how to walk again is fun. Now we are recovering together. I had my 75th birthday in July 2018, as I look back, the years have gone by in a blink. I’ll add a few more years today to my history. I will turn 80 this July, 2023. The last 3 hrs have been nothing but Drs. Appointments, surgeries and physical Therapy for both David and I. Lots of tests, broken more bones. Boy, this getting old is no fun, what happened to those GOLDEN years? Along the way we have been very blessed by our Lord, our children also. What a joy our family is. With all the trials, blessings come along too. Life is so fast, and over to soon. We must make the best of what time we have left. Do a good deed everyday for someone, Love your life, your family, your grandchildren and all mankind, womenkind too. 2019 has been a hospital year, surgery’s, emergencies ride to ER by the Paramedics. 2023 has been a good and hard year. Our family thinks it’s time to downsize. Guess what it is happening. I cry tears of saddeness having to leave our country house and country living.. we have loved it here in Nauvoo out in the country. But we are getting older and frankly can’t keep up this beautiful house, arced of land. We we are building a house in St. Charles, MO. Ver close to our daughter Wendy. I’m having a complete shoulder replacement, the old bode is falling apart. More later. Life is good. Be Happy. 🤗
